Guruvar Vrat Ka Mantra

Guruvar Vrat Mantra is a sacred mantra dedicated to Devguru Brihaspati and Lord Vishnu. Thursday, also known as Guruvar or Brihaspativar, is considered highly auspicious for worshipping them and seeking blessings for knowledge, prosperity, good fortune, marriage, children and spiritual growth. According to Vedic astrology, Devguru Brihaspati represents wisdom, education, morality, religious faith, wealth, respect and happiness. Therefore, chanting the Guruvar Vrat Mantra with devotion is believed to strengthen the positive influence of Jupiter in a person’s horoscope.

The most commonly chanted Guruvar mantra is “Om Brim Brihaspataye Namah.” Devotees may also chant “Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya” to worship Lord Vishnu. These mantras are traditionally recited 108 times on Thursday morning after taking a bath and wearing clean yellow clothes. During the puja, devotees can offer yellow flowers, turmeric, gram lentils, bananas, jaggery and yellow sweets. Lighting a ghee lamp and using a turmeric or yellow sandalwood rosary are also considered auspicious.

Regular chanting of the Guruvar Vrat Mantra is believed to remove obstacles related to marriage, education, career, finances and family life. It may improve concentration, decision-making ability, confidence and spiritual understanding. People who are experiencing delays in marriage, instability in their careers, financial difficulties or the unfavourable influence of Jupiter may observe the Guruvar fast and chant these mantras with faith.

The mantra should be recited with a calm mind, clear pronunciation and sincere intention. Devotees should also follow virtuous conduct, respect teachers and elders, avoid anger and dishonesty, and donate yellow food items or useful articles to people in need. According to Har Ghar Pandit Ji, faith, purity and consistency are more important than performing the ritual merely as a formality. When Guruvar Vrat and mantra chanting are practised regularly with devotion, they can bring wisdom, peace, prosperity, harmony and the divine blessings of Lord Vishnu and Devguru Brihaspati into one’s life.
