Ganesh Ji Sthapana Vidhi

Ganesh Ji Sthapana Vidhi is the sacred procedure of welcoming and installing Lord Ganesha’s idol at home or in a place of worship, especially during Ganesh Chaturthi. The ritual begins by cleaning and purifying the worship area. A decorated platform covered with a clean red or yellow cloth is prepared, preferably in the northeast direction. Lord Ganesha’s idol is then respectfully placed on the platform, along with a sacred Kalash containing clean water, mango leaves, and a coconut.

The ceremony includes taking a spiritual vow (Sankalp), invoking Lord Ganesha, and performing Prana Pratishtha with complete devotion. Devotees offer vermilion, Akshat, Durva grass, flowers, incense, a lamp, fruits, Modak, and other sacred items. The mantra “Om Gan Ganapataye Namah” is chanted to seek Lord Ganesha’s blessings. The worship concludes with Ganesh Aarti and the distribution of Prasad.
